This Ceramic workshop will be held at the Henley School of Art, 30c Hart St, Henley on Thames, RG9 2AU.

Join me on Sunday 19th Feb 10.30am-12.30pm  for an enjoyable morning, learning how to make a Japanese inspired Pail (Vases). These charming slab build vessels are based on the Japanese water buckets or "mis baketsu".   I will show you how to attach the handles, so that you can fit your own once your Pails are fired. There will be a selected palatte of glazes to choose from.

The workshop: -

     Suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners.

     The maximum class size is 8 so there will be plenty of one to one guidance and support.

     I have 10 years experience in teaching Ceramics to adults, from beginners to Level 2 qualifications.

    The cost is £35 pp - includes all materials, glazing and firings for a maximum of 2 pieces.

     Your work will be delivered to you approximately 3 weeks after the Workshop.

    Adults and over 14s welcome. Under 16 years accompanied with adult please.

The General Ceramics course will suitable for beginners and the more experienced.  For beginners we will cover 'the basics' - pinching & coiling, slab building, a little throwing, along side basic glaze techniques and surface decoration. For those with more experience, we can discuss aspects you would like to improve on and shape the course for you accordingly.

There are 2 places remaining for the second half term starting on Tuesday 21st Feb 7-9pm and will be 5 weeks long, finishing on 21 March. The course will be at the New Directions Pottery Studio in Caversham.

The cost includes materials and firings.

 With Spring on its way, its time to start thinking about the garden. In this workshop we will be making a ceramic Garden Lantern, loosely inspired by Japanese stone Garden lanterns. Using a lovely strong crank clay, your lantern will be fully frost proof so will be a lovely feature all year round.


This Ceramic workshop will be held at the Henley School of Art, 30c Hart St, Henley on Thames, RG9 2AU.

Can we make and decorate a Teapot in 2 hours ?  Yes we can!

This is the Teapot Challenge - to make and decorate a fully functional teapot and have fun. We will using pinching and slab techniques. The Workshop is suitable for all levels of experience with clay. Cost £38 per person inclusive of all materials and firing. Tea and cookies also included!
